I'm not sure what music level I am/my child is at. What should I do?
Just sign up for your first lesson with us! Do bring along your existing music books (if any) and we will conduct a simple assessment before providing detailed recommendations for your learning needs.
I'm not sure if I wish to enrol into music examinations in future. Will this affect my learning progress?
All classical music students at Mad About Music will be equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and techniques needed at the equivalent level of ABRSM exam standards. For example, a grade 1 student at Mad About Music will acquire the same skillsets (eg. grade 1 equivalent pieces, scales, sight-reading and aural training) as another grade 1 student from Mad About Music who has undergone the ABRSM examinations. However, the outcomes of learning are highly dependent on the student's musical ability. We believe that all students are uniquely different from each other and should not be objects of comparison. Regardless, we still highly encourage students to take the exams as we have seen many students benefitting from challenging themselves to grow in their love for music while honing their ability to perform on stage and in public.
